Luis, considering that Ivan is still southeast of Cuba, I don't think you did much dodging. San Diego is on the water and is cooler than L.A. pretty much year round. Not as cool as S.F., but 70's when L.A's 80's and 80's when L.A.'s 90's. But I'm not the expert; I just went to UC/SD for 2 years and did drugs. ;-> -

Probably would'nt need to take off work either!! I'll let you know closer to time weather or not there is room in my truck(suv) for others to car pool with me.

Lizabat, a Carnival ship is big and you can barely feel the ocean, if at all. My Dad took me fishing on a 40 footer (maybe larger) years ago and I was on my back the whole time. Not once on the cruise. But better hurry soon as the only cabins available now are those turned in by cruisers (goth vel non) who are cancelling (this is more to Luis). Tue, September 14, 2004 - 3:57 AMI love cruses! Lizabat, you can also get medication to prevent that little problem and then it would be there if you needed it. James is right though you shouldnt feel anything. Everyone should take a cruse at least once! There is sooooo much fun to be had on one, and they have realy good food too. Well the one I went on did anyway. I didn't know they had Goth cruses. Are there other neet Goth outings that go on around CA? I only moved to SF in Feb. I would love to get out and do fun gathering type things in the future. Seeing how Convergence dosn't happen but once a year.

Tue, September 14, 2004 - 4:08 PMUnfortunately, not really. So far the only thing I can report is a vague promise that there MIGHT be an announcement later this week regarding the vote time line. Maybe.
I am getting rather annoyed with the delay in the voting process and the lack of information.
In my personal opinion, it would be a good thing if people would go on the various Convergence related forums and start making a bit of noise about getting this thing rolling.

Sun, September 19, 2004 - 4:59 PMThere's just some kind of delay in voting. I've heard about San Diego making a proposal. I have also heard rumors of San Francisco making a proposal again, which I wholeheartedly support -- wasn't too impressed with the last time there was one here in SF. -

BTW, just exactly how much grief are you going to get (and from whom) when you pull off the best (non-)Convergence yet?
