      I think it's funny that tickets go on sale today, but the bands won't be announced till March 1st. I would think most people would wait till they know what bands are playing before they buy their tickets.

        That's not at all unusual for Convergence. The committees can't announce bands until all the contracts and other paperwork are sorted and people start getting impatient if you leave ticket sales too late.

        6-8 months is a really short time period to put together an event this big. And since the social aspect of Convergence is considered to be primary, the bands are used to drive ticket sales.

        Honestly, I'm glad the tickets go on sale well before the bands are announced. Maybe that will keep away the fuckwits who only go for the music and have no interest in socializing face to face with people they've been chatting with online for years.
